Professional

I build durable digital businesses for news and information companies.

Today that work happens through my consulting practice, where I provide publishers with fresh perspective and flexible capacity around product strategy, audience growth, and revenue operations. Recent projects have ranged from untangling a membership-technology stack for a large nonprofit media group, to coaching emerging product leaders at a regional television station, to strengthening newsletter engagement for a national golf publication, and helping a local newspaper expand its audience through community-focused social channels.

Before I began consulting, I led in-house teams:

Star Tribune – as Senior Vice President, Digital, I oversaw product, design, engineering, and analytics while introducing paid subscriptions and modernizing every major consumer touchpoint.

MarketWatch (Dow Jones) – as General Manager, I steered the consumer site, launched its first social integrations, and earlier helped grow the site’s SaaS tools for finance and media partners.

Throughout my career I’ve stayed close to both the craft of journalism and the mechanics of the business: interviewing readers, digging through analytics, sketching prototypes, and aligning cross-functional teams around outcomes that matter.
