Ghost Duck and the Fairy

November 1st, 2008 Posted in superteam

Halloween was a big success again this year. Leadership as usual came from Suzanne who not only constructed costumes to meet the visions of her children but also managed to coordinate the party activity for Maddie’s class at school. We also received from Suzanne’s Mom a very spooky cat-eye wrap for one of our windows which brought up the spooky curb appeal.

Jake declared several months ago that he wanted to be a Ghost Duck. This is a variation, we believe, on his successful costume last year as a Ghost Clock Who Ate Ghosts. He provided direction: he wanted to be a duck, also a ghost, and he wanted to have a pouch or necklace of ducks. You can see the results below.

Maddie wanted very much to be a fairy. Not pictured were her fabulous tights which were shiny. She looked great, beaming in the role.

We tromped around with the neighbors, thankful they returned from London where they spent the last year including Halloween. A new addition is their dog Mazie awkwardly pictured below. The dog was dressed as a ladybug, another great argument for getting a dog. Or, as Suzie would say, another great argument for the neighbors to get a dog.

The kids made it around the neighborhood without any tears of any sort. They get older, cuter and more fun…

Fabulous costumes and fun! We only had a few trick/treaters, but it was exciting when Dalton chased two youngsters across the lawn with them screaming at the top of their lungs. Parents jumped from cars, lots of running, and more shouting which only served to make Dalton run some more. Finally, the little girls thought it was funny, and it all ended in giggles and licks.
    Love to all,

p.s. still couldn’t get Connor to wear his pumpkin outfit for a picture.
